ICE STORM DAMAGE IN WORKING FORESTS - 2025 ECD is planning a post ice-storm forestry talk and networking opportunity on Wed. May 14th, 2025 at 5:30PM in Pellston for landowners, the timber industry, and land clearing businesses.
This talk will focus on working forests of 20 acres or more, the effects on the health and value of your working forest, to “salvage or not to salvage” your timber, options for clean-up, who to contact, and an opportunity to network with timber industry leaders and land clearing businesses. Information will be provided about federal cost-share assistance for restoring your forest, casualty loss on your tax return due to damage from the storm, and future savings on your property taxes (Qualified Forest Program and Commercial Forest Act). There is no charge to attend.
