We get a lot of calls from landowners about forestry related questions and issues and try to respond in a way to help landowners achieve their many goals. We would love to be able to provide more forestry-related services, but unfortunately our Conservation District so far has been unable to get a District Forester for Emmet County, which is available to some districts through the MDARD Forestry Assistance Program (grant).

What would a Conservation District Forester or CD Forestry Professional be able to do? They would be able to provide landowners with important information to guide them such as by writing Forest Management Plans, doing site visits, providing professional consultation, assistance with forestry grants and programs. We may not have a forester, but we will do what we can to provide good and useful information. For more info on forestry in Emmet County, please feel free to contact our office.
